I like the way you think.

I was doing a little fantasy-planning along those lines as we were leaving Asheville.

@lambdagrrl We were driving up the on-ramp to the Blue Ridge Parkway to get from Warren Wilson to the place where we ritually eat lunch (see earlier toot), and there was this big ol' house just off the ramp...

...and then later I was remembering that, and thinking about my secret plan to reclaim a tiny slice of the economy (because that's really all it would take to have command of quite vast riches) in the name of compassion and friendship, and...

@lambdagrrl ...how a chunk of the money would go into building a network of refuge-houses all over where kind people would be welcome to visit or live as necessary, and whenever there was someone on Mastodon needing a place to stay, someone from the network could talk to them and work out which of our houses that had available space would be best for them to go to, and send them a bus ticket or whatever, as necessary... and find them a niche, if they needed one...

...and that house on the hill next to the Blue Ridge Parkway would be one of them, and people who lived there could just go for long walks in the woods off the Parkway when the weather was suitable...

...and also (just incidentally) whenever we needed to visit Asheville overnight, we could make sure there was a room available in the house, and we could stay with people we liked and exchange hugs and stories instead of booking a hotel room.
