@lambdagrrl You're a customer and the person on the other phone should be treating you well to get you in that place and get your money.

If they get any attitude, simply lay it out for them: "I don't appreciate the way you're talking to me, and if you won't act appropriately I will be considering taking my business elsewhere on top of lodging a formal complaint." I've said this in various forms to lots of people lol, usually works wonders.

I always try to do this sort of thing via email -- aside from being phone-phobic in general, I find it gives me more time to think, including checking for conflicts like that -- but too many places don't seem willing to admit that email exists, much less make appointments that way, :-/
