OK, I have to ask this question, it seems like a simple thing for someone to have tried

has anyone tried taking some kind of psychometric test, like a test designed to rate one's degree of depression or some other alteration of mood, that yields _some_ kind of numerical result ("how depressed are you on a scale of zero to ten" kind of thing), done it _every day_ for a _really_ long time, and then run a time-domain analysis on the results?

looked for evidence of periodic behavior?

so, my girlfriend's advice is that spending money on Dragon or some other voice recognition software will be money wasted

I was hoping to speed up transcription of audio recordings but...maybe there's no real way to do it other than the old fashioned way?
