OK, as I kind of suspected would happen, I wasn't concise enough, and I only covered part of the introductory story I wanted to tell about how I got into magick. Talked a bit about starting out as a science-nerd kid, discovering Tolkien and then C. S. Lewis, and how that ended up kindling an interest in classical antiquity and mythology. Treated with an important influence, "Till We Have Faces", at a bit of length.

OK, at around 9 pm tonight I'm going to do another YouTube broadcast, and start talking about magick from the perspective of a complete novice. The first broadcast, I think, will focus around how I got interested in neo-paganism and magick in the first place, and how I arrived at the point where I'm starting to work on a magickal practice in earnest.

hm...I was talking a little bit about doing some kind of broadcast pertaining to #magick from the standpoint of a total novice trying to get a serious start
reflecting on how to do that
I find there's something disinhibiting about live audio streaming, although it means forgoing any sort of polish or rehearsal
maybe I should do it podcast style, and pre-record. that would be better for maintaining a steady release date since I could record any time, and record a backlog
but live is cool...

We've done some work with a collaborator - measuring transport activity of proteins in the vacuolar membrane in the flesh of apples. This is one of the determinants of tartness - how much acid is moved into those vacuoles.
Every year our collaborator thanks us with bags and bags of apples. New, yet unnamed varieties, bred with knowledge from scientists before us, each tree taking a decade or so to bear fruit.
Way in the future, there's a tech getting a Christmas bag of apples I helped breed.
Hey writers! Do you know any good planetary system simulator? I get several search hits, but none of them seem to work (too old or needs flash) or they are otherwise not what I'm looking for.
So, I'd like to set my own stars, planets and moons and see how they move around each other, so that I could have a hint on what kind of astronomical calendar a culture living in that system could have.
I have a very limited knowledge of astrophysics, so a starter level simulator would be best.
