Short story here is that my wife may simply not be coming to church for the near future because she just can't deal with the stupid trauma of it. I mean we get that they're not affirming etc etc but that's something that can be worked on and hopefully they won't be *rude* about it. But anyway what happened is the priest made a passing snide remark about "identity". And it's like, that wasn't a fair representation of others to make, and even if you were right, if I brought (say) a lesbian friend today they would just be insulted, not edified. So she just decided that it's not worth the mental effort anymore to show up. #religion

@gzt eh, might be for the best? I don't think there's much spiritual gain to be had from a church you're always going to be at odds with, even if it's mostly under wraps. but then we're all massive apostates here...
