I suspect that reciting details to myself aloud would help, but I'm habituated to doing everything internally. Talking things through with myself has been a surprisingly difficult habit to build up for someone who openly talks with her alternate personalities online

Common manifestation: I'm upstairs in my bedroom, waiting out the clock until it's time to go downstairs and collect myself for work. "Don't forget that you need to collect a couple items from downstairs before you leave," I tell myself.

Then, thirty seconds later, I march downstairs, do my usual few pre-flight checks, grab my bag and leave. I remember the other items when I'm a block away (and then decide it's too late to go back for them, dithering long enough to miss my bus or train)

what cognitive malfunction makes it impossible for me to remember exceptions to routine, especially when under any pressure

here's a #witch question for the fediverse...anyone else here ever tried to use chat (IRC, Discorrd, whatever) for specific ritual purpose?

I decide that I'm not going to pretend to go along, but instead I shrug and take the mild approach of saying, "I don't see what the problem is." the dude senses that he's crossed a line with me and hastily says, "I mean, that's just my opinion" type stuff, and the rest of the work day goes a bit chillier.

had a bad moment at work though. I'm of course not "out" to anyone there, and I'm sticking to my usual policy of letting everyone think I'm straight and cis male. easy enough to do; just mention "girlfriend" a few times.

I'm gradually getting my therapy back on track after fucking up a good thing (well a decent thing) with an ill-advised move from one provider to another. ended up moving back and now I'm much happier again.

currently I'm on 40 mg daily of atomoxetine ("Strattera") as my only psych drug, soon to be doubled to 80 mg. I think it's doing some good in a rather gentle, subtle way, but it's hard to tell because of the huge disruption to my mental equilibrium that my new job has been.

Finally I contacted Cedar River in Renton to get HRT on an "informed consent" basis. Intake is on 20 October. Should've done this months ago.

giving fairly serious thought to the factory board-game idea. here's roughly what I'm imagining: you get an empty square grid and tiles of various sizes that take up one or more of the grid squares, representing the factory equipment. definitely thinking "idealized chemical plant", cos that simplifies things a bit to just handling generic liquids and solids and maybe the occasional gas. going for coöp + secret goals to add a bit of underhanded competition.
