a less happy thing that happened tonight, though, was this spread from the "Silicon Dawn" tarot deck, conducted by @Ulfra_Wolfe in response to an admittedly somewhat vague and general question about whether my social life is going to improve. well...maybe not. sorry for the bad pic https://witches.town/media/yhS4j0z6YC1IDFLJ6c0
played some other stuff...we did our Pandemic Legacy round and squeaked out a win this time (last time through we lost very rapidly), and also played an auctioning game called "Warehouse 51" that I won, but had some difficulty getting into. I'm not good at bidding games.
yep, played "Clank!" with @TipsyTentacle, @Ulfra_Wolfe, and Swifty. took forever to set up, it seemed like, but it was worth it!
First impression of Clank, the board game. (four queers, about a hour)
Rank: A
(score goes from F- to A+)

How I hate software gurus thinking they blow your mind because in their system the equivalent of a basic task is completely different and then they repeat as much as they can that «you have to think differently» and that «you don't just <do something>» with their approach. But even though you're perfectly aware of it and you completely master the concept behind because come on people it's really not that complicated, sorry but you're no geniuses, you can't find nowhere the actual description of what to do and if what you attempt doesn't work you'll never be able to find useful help.
You hear me, gurus ? I hate you.
biggest "achievement" was watching 5 eps of Carranger
today was almost a complete waste. never had worse executive dysfunction. tomorrow will be better
it's always weird to hear the DOOM platform sound effects pop up in something else
Carranger feels very '80s, which is impressive for a show that came out in 1997
what is this flippin' show
<coughs> It sure would be nice if people who create art could count on having a steady income.
I know I've never made a dime off it, even after decades of trying, but sometimes it's all you can do.
(Did I mention that capitalism is a sucky way to allocate production? It mainly rewards people for siphoning wealth from the commons, or else helping someone else to do that, when it should be rewarding creativity and innovation. Tesla died penniless, insane, and alone.)
gonna watch a bit of Carranger. God help me.
If I had the /ability/ to travel the country and play at venues while living in vans and at motels, with access to internet and food
Guess what
I would
Hello witches. Any recommandations for good comics ? I like complex or psycological stories, fantasy, absurd humor and strong female leads. Not all criterias are required. Thanks a lot o/
(boost appreciated)
btw I really like that "heck" has become a bowdlerized form of "fuck" as well as "hell"
sleepcs totally hecked up right now
@woozle @CobaltVelvet That is how language evolves, it feels much smoother flow if you say ATM machine over ATM, or MOSFET transisitor over MOSFET it would be different if it was Automatic Teller Machine machine also ATM means other things too nowadays so it helps reduce potential ambiguity, as for MOSFET transisitor it can be thought of semantic container, if for some reason a person partially hears or mishears MOSFET they can then error correct to get Transisitor.
"Organic Syntheses" changed their web code I guess, and their newest articles can't be viewed on my phone :( compare older and newer. toggling "request desktop site" in mobile Chrome does nothing.

and was brought to a halt almost immediately. I think I'm going to have to get a cheat working for me to progress. it's the undersea level where you have to run from oxygen supply to oxygen supply and I'm really not seeing how I can do it without cheating.
