I'm a proud leftist, and I'd be on the side of the POUM in the Spanish Civil War. If that would make me a violent leftist extremist, so be it.

@Ulfra_Wolfe I have a suspicion that whatever cause I fought for, I'd walk away from it jaded and heartbroken. That comes partly from my passing familiarity with Orwell's experiences in the Spanish Civil War, and partly from my experiences so far in the Psychic Civil War of 2017.

Increasingly thinking I am the sort of person who should be striving to fight like a Taoist sage, by staring in an auspicious direction and reaction to all this as little as humanly achievable.

@zebratron2084 I do what I feel is right, because no one can fault that. No group is perfect, no stance is pure, and I will probably be betrayed. But I can control my actions, and I can find those I would trust with my life, as I have time and again. Retreating from the world benefits no one and keeps the status quo.

@Ulfra_Wolfe Well, if you can do that, you should, and if I've ever recuperated enough to join you, I guess I will. I can't even see far enough to see such a day right now.

@Ulfra_Wolfe (Sorry, this is almost certainly a reflection of my current mood, and I genuinely regret being such a misanthropic downer. Maybe I will find a way to purge the cynicism. This is just, like, my fifth or sixth rodeo here, and you can only get thrown so many times before you stop liking it. :) You are noble and better than me for keeping the faith -- no irony here whatsoever. *hug* )

@zebratron2084 I'm better than no one. I'm Awakened, in a way, and keep a touch to an internal magic that burns, but when it fades I'm worse than most I know.

@Ulfra_Wolfe Yeah. That's... that's a good keyword for when we finally get together. "Fires have gone out" feels like a REAL good description for my current spiritual malady. And I have tried everything from prayer to fire gods to copious amounts of kerosene to get it back. :)
