should I buy a paper book or a Kindle book, in this particular case the cost would be about the same
@arielmt yeah >_< I can't honestly assume that Kindle is always going to work. I might lose my whole library
@kara_dreamer Digital libraries can be good if you understand you're renting for a one-time fee and with some conditions, but that's the rub: You're renting, not buying.
@kara_dreamer @arielmt The preferred approach with ebooks is to strip the DRM and keep it in your calibre library.
@kara_dreamer In my particular case, the chance that Amazon will lose or inexplicably delete an ebook I bought from them is WAY LESS than the chance that I will lose, misplace, or be unable to store/move a physical book. YMMV. :)
@Rowyn yeah, I ended up getting all the books I wanted in paper form, and I'm even considering just buying another paper copy of a book that I ordered yesterday in Kindle format
@kara_dreamer You have to figure out where to put a paper book when you're done reading it, but Amazon won't repossess it if they think you did something you shouldn't (and probably didn't) before you finish reading it.
