@Miffy I grew up in the late '70s when autism was obscure still, and my overprotective and not very stable mother probably wouldn't have even thought of it. I'm partly convinced that my brother definitely *was* autistic, for his problems with conversation and socialization were an order of magnitude worse than mine, and he had some very definite indications, like eye contact and hyperfocusing on his hobbies to an extreme degree
