what cognitive malfunction makes it impossible for me to remember exceptions to routine, especially when under any pressure
I suspect that reciting details to myself aloud would help, but I'm habituated to doing everything internally. Talking things through with myself has been a surprisingly difficult habit to build up for someone who openly talks with her alternate personalities online
@mawr ah, that would require planning. *chuckles* or at least acting on a remembered self-assigned task BEFORE it's strictly necessary to remember it (because if I wait until the "right" time, I forget)
@kara_dreamer *giggles* Okay, fair enough. ^^
@kara_dreamer telling myself stuff out loud really helps me remember/work through them, but I've been in the habit of talking to myself out loud since I was in grade school and just never "grew out of it" like the teachers assured my mom I would. XD
@kara_dreamer This used to happen to me a lot-- the way I get around this problem is to pack the things I need into or on top of my bag or shoes-- one of the last things I grab before leaving. That way I'm very unlikely to forget it. ^^
