@Sasha that type of "guru" (ugh, what a gross appropriative use of that word, huh?) is very common in workplaces, I feel. they're people who've learned the details of needlessly intricate, roundabout procedures that rely heavily on what I'll call "folk wisdom" (i.e. information that's not documented anywhere but that gets passed around verbally) and then set themselves up as gatekeepers of this knowledge like it were the inner secrets of a mystery cult.
