@TipsyTentacle the fact that Zootopia is pro-cop is legitimately worrisome, specially cos Judy's shown to be super enthusiastic about punishing tiny infractions

@kara_dreamer @TipsyTentacle Hazel really loved Judy and that kinda colors my view, buuut.... yeah. Sigh. :(

@Ulfra_Wolfe @kara_dreamer @TipsyTentacle eugh it was such a cute film if you didnt think about it too deeply :(

@LottieVixen @kara_dreamer @TipsyTentacle It feels very "Do better, cops", which I might be more okay with if I still believed in the cops at all.

@LottieVixen @Ulfra_Wolfe @TipsyTentacle I still like the movie, but I always have to remind myself to regard it like a classic Hollywood film that's obeying the "Production Code".

@kara_dreamer @TipsyTentacle @LottieVixen I think that's what disappoints me the most, really. It's not the film itself. It's that this film was *revolutionary* compared to everything else Disney has done. It's new, fresh, and avoids a lot of the tropes. There's no singing, and it covers things Disney hasn't ever before.

And yet... it's so bland. It doesn't fully cross that line. And it kinda makes it feel like no one big will... and that's what hurts.

@Ulfra_Wolfe @kara_dreamer @TipsyTentacle @LottieVixen I'm not the biggest Disney person, so I don't recognize all of their tropes, but how does Wreck It Ralph compare on a similar metric?

@kara_dreamer @TipsyTentacle If you understand French, maybe this video will be interesting for you : youtu.be/NcShYK-MneM ? (if not, sorry)

@Seipas my french isn't good enough for this yet, sorry. ):
