Ultimately Mastodon's killer feature is that it's a public good that someone built because they thought it needed to exist and not a startup someone built because they wanted to get rich quick selling other people's data.

I was just pleased because I used http://fluidapp.com/ to make a standalone witches.town app on my Mac (since there aren't any Mastodon clients for Mac yet). Not at all important, not nearly as cool.

Got Witch Town set up in its own Fluid instance. Trying to decide on a good icon for it. Right now it's this Iconfactory icon, described as "Mad Tea Party".
