I'm now following two people twice because they have accounts on multiple instances. Apart from being weird, seems like an abuse vector similar to domain phishing. Register something like mastadon.social, clone an account, you've got a pretty good attack.
@axiixc mastadon.social has already been donated and points to mastodon.social, but… yeah. One of the reasons I don't love federation.
