Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but cis literally means that you identify with your birth assignment and is also distinct from trans. Because I think what I'm seeing is the start of "cis ppl are trans too!"
@SelfsameSynonym are they talking about the trans "umbrella" stuff that includes cis gay drag queens and stuff? Basically anyone who is gender non-conforming but I like that term better for cis folks.
@jamuraa It's largely afab NBs saying things along the lines of "I'm afab and I like being a woman, but I'm not really girly, so I'm kinda part trans, part cis." I'm NB so I completely sympathize with the lack of appropriate language to talk about our experience, but the whole thing stinks of the "trans women are oppressing me let's use an asterisk" discourse.
