we're planning on dropping in a LAN9512 per pi for 10/100 ethernet, and then on-board switch chips to aggregate boards, up to a switch for the whole 1U

we're going to try and fit over 120 raspberry pi 3 compute modules into 1U

@lm has been working (in their time outside uni semesters) on a board design, first with 2 pis and all the components for testing, then eventually 8 on a single board
