thinking a lot about the kerning of 6T here
someone took time to do this and I love them
@iliana i can't really tell but the T overlaps the 6 by one pixel, right?
@ashkitten @iliana kinda, i think it must be hard-coded?? if all glyphs were 6 wide, you could get like 6H and there wouldn't be any gap
@MightyPork @iliana thank you whoever made the font they used <3
@MightyPork @ashkitten the glyphs, if rectangles, do not overlap, but there is not the one-pixel spacing
@iliana @ashkitten i'm thinking how they could do this. maybe they are 5x7 and it packs them by checking for collisions and moving closer ..
@MightyPork @iliana i doubt it's that smart
@MightyPork @ashkitten tbh I think all the messages are prebaked bitmaps put in by software and it's the software that has the kerning smarts
@iliana @ashkitten thinking of it, that sounds probably - ours also have symbols for like metro or train that would be a pain to encode
@MightyPork @ashkitten @iliana A lot of dot matrix displays (thinking the 14 pin LCD displays here primarily) have space to store a few custom characters, so it's not that unreasonable to assume there would be a space for common symbols.
@iliana no touchy the drivey 👉👉👉🚫🚫🚫🙅🙅🙅
@envgen pwease no touchy
@iliana That's really soothing if I'm being honest.
