realizing that you got someone at work to stop saying "guys" and start saying "folks"
@iliana imagine getting someone to stop saying "folks" and start saying "fucks"
@iliana things like these count, same reason why we made a conscious effort to stop master/slave and prefer primary/secondary or primary/mirror
I love how this toot got a very good serious response and a very good extremely not serious response
@iliana you're welcome~ x3
@iliana i'll probably always say "y'all" for this reason.
@KitRedgrave @iliana gentlepersons
@iliana i’d rather make “guys”, “dudes”, and “men” more recognized as gender neutral, which some would argue is historically how they grammatically functioned. not that feminine qualities should be margininalized, just recognizing that there are already its/thems in common usage
@mcandre I'd rather not
@mcandre like I'm really close to blocking you for this and your other recent responses?
do better?
@iliana i think i understand how you feel. which other responses?
https://mastodon.social/@mcandre/99750926306540610 felt kind of awful because you don't really feel gender dysphoria just from being postmenopausal, and "womyn" is a spelling variant commonly associated with TERFs
https://mastodon.social/@mcandre/99747820748532890 just felt completely off the mark
@iliana eh i figured i would add an additional edge case for the fitbit over-helpfulness, apart from the edge case you pointed out. i am unfamiliar with TERFs. in my defense i was unfunny.
@iliana nice
