@Vann I *think* the linux ntfs mounter has an option for the default permissions on files
NTFS has no concept of permissions that makes sense for other users of NTFS so the linux stuff doesn't bother

i should move my storage off to my external and just wipe this old partition and make it not ntfs anymore
