But seriously, all the #trans women who cry all the time, was that how you always were? Did you just not develop that "dismiss/dissociate all feelings" defense mechanism? Or did you overcome it? I'm hopeful, but wondering if I'm counting on transition when even expensive therapy and new meds might not even help. :-/

Thinking I might beg my doc to give me progesterone. He doesn't believe it does any good, and that it raises breast cancer risk. That is a valid concern, but I want to fix this. :-/

Well, I just watched Grave of the Fireflies, because I figured I needed catharsis. Given I've broken up and started earnestly trying to feel things what with transition. I have more emotions with HRT, but they're still so shallow.

And yes, the movie was incredibly sad. But I didn't cry, and I feel like if I don't work to hold on to that sad, it'll fade away immediately.

I'm on a low dose of effexor. I wonder if that's blunting my affect. Or am I just a fraction of a person? Am I just some weird automaton, trying to stuff myself with feelings that will never stick?

I hate that from the outside, people don't see what transitioning has done for me. I feel so much better from it than I did from going to school after recovering from a crazy long depressive episode. Even though going to school made my life better objectively, I felt none of it. And now I probably look the same or even worse off to friends and family, but I'm so much happier. Weird.

@nex3 Huh I was asking that same question last year. Wish I asked it sooner, but regret is a useless emotion I need to cope with now that I have feelings.

Also, I'm doing that dumb thing where I know there's a million small things I could do to feel useful or make myself feel good, but I'm doing none of them. I guess I'll make myself eat, tidy up my room, and as a stretch goal, schedule with the eye doctor and dentist.

I wish I knew I'd channel all my breakup feeling into hating my body before breaking up. Shaving my chest was hell this morning.

It's my first breakup after transitioning, and I think my dingus limbic system gets dysphoria works better than tears, so that's where it's shoving the bad feelings.
