It's weird talking to my cis straight friend about queer issues. He's a lawyer fresh out of law school and decides to run his professors' opinions on trans rights by me. Like, he pointed out his professor said trans rights has a problem in that anybody can call themselves trans at any moment without proof, and while that is mostly true, the alternative is shittier.
And he pointed out a crossdresser's been sending him sexually agressive messages on OKCupid, and I think he wanted me to explain that guy's mindset when I'm all, just block him and move on?
cis friends, teeny tiny microagressions Afficher plus
Plus, I joked about how I'm watching anime to have something to talk about with other queer people, since the only other show they talk about at the LGBTQ center is RuPaul. And he was all, "But you do drag." And I had to go into that whole, "No, drag and crossdressing are about dressing like a woman, while being trans is about being who you are" spiel. And then pull a bunch of RuPaul receipts and explain why drag and crossdressers make me dysphoric.
Kinda tedious.
