Ugh I'm going to a conference for the next few days and so may not have the opportunity for hanging around on social networks (eg this one) as much. But where else is there magic in my life? Why did I decide to go to this conference? I'm not even presenting anything.

I'm always annoyed when a TV show makes jokes about the flu or about vaccination that are scientifically inaccurate because I think public health isn't something to joke about and people mistake the jokes for the reality. So, for instance, a joke about somebody getting influenza from the vaccine only reinforces the popular misconception and discourages vaccination.
