This post brought to you by running into people who want to use their religion to support historical slavery rather than recognizing that slavery is a grave evil and that the proper way to do religion is to universally apply their principles to continue to move past former modes of evil.

John Chrysostom on slavery, same could be said about capitalism:

John Chrysostom, a fifth century writer on slavery. Can be said about capitalism as well.

Presenting at conference in 8 days, I'm going to have to triage this down since I'm not going to get all of this done. Fortunately it's like an 8:30am session. Also I really should have stayed another day at the conference.

@ThatVeryQuinn The videos are available on youtube as well but they don't tell you what the readings are there. Of course, for the full experience, you should be reading the text (Jewish Study Bible - highly recommend) and supplemental texts they use (harder to get your hands on without an academic library, but not vital).
