One of my former classmates is a writer who is writing things, lovely things, lovely visible things and wow is that imposter syndrome creeping up on me from the pit of hell?
I'm just confused how everybody has these photographer friends taking amazing photos of them
and, not only do I have to *ask* my friends to snap photos of me being picturesque, but when they do, it's blurry and my hair is jacked and there are sweat stains all over my soul
Something's not adding up here. 🤔

I'm still so proud of myself for writing an entire thesis on the merits of AAVE and code-switching as status- and community-oriented, very similar to Japanese keigo and kenjogo (what I was studying at the time).
Your fav could never.
You will never in your life be able to throw shade, Kathy Ann, and that's fine. You're probably good at a lot of other things too. You don't need to throw shade to be cool, and you have no tea to spill so stop trying at that too.
And when your friends get snarky? Stop praising them for dragging folks cause that's not for you and your friend. Just say Toni Lauren was snarky and be done with it. We know what you mean. You don't need to upsell.

I'm gonna look for a writing group or collective or partner or team. If anyone would like to be my long-form fiction noveling buddy, I'm also open to that.
@shoutcacophony you're still editor bae if I ever reach a finish line.
@guerrillarain sometimes having a writing buddy helps? its like 90% of the reason ive gotten most of my writing done in the past year/workshops, knowing having anything to show when it came time for meet up really helped keep me accountable and it gave me space to really make blegh drafts cause I trust my people a lot and know they trust me w their work too. still moving slow w my writing, but it keeps me from staying stuck
@guerrillarain Have you ever done morning pages? http://juliacameronlive.com/basic-tools/morning-pages/ It was the biggest take-away I got out of reading Artist's Way.
Also, her book about the writing life helped me a lot http://juliacameronlive.com/books-by-julia/the-right-to-write/ especially around how to juggle having a writing practice and a busy life outside of writing at the same time

@guerrillarain
I think all black people wake up with that plan but they *stay* testing us. THA DEVIL IS REAL.
I work full time idk why that says part time.
So, uh, writer fam:
How do I finish things? How do I make time after my part time job? How do I get the passion and enthusiasm to cover up the exhaustion? How do I write past the lack of feedback?
Starting is so easy. Carrying it to completion is the real challenge.
Sincerely,
I have about 120 unfinished novels/versions out there from over 13 years of writing

If I see another wavy-haired person talking about "curls"... You're taking up space.
Yall all messy
Everybody's canceled
@guerrillarain This always happens. The oppressor class worries that they’ll get treated the way they’ve treated others. Homophobia is the fear that men will treat a man the way that they’ve been treating women. Etc. Etc. It’s rather obvious but they can’t see it when they’re the ones doing it.
I didn't wake up planning to rant about white people again today, but here I am.
edgy white person: white privilege isn't real!!!!!
also them: can you imagine if I was treated like a black person tho????? like 💯
margaret atwood: what if white women were treated like cattle whose sole purpose was to breed and had no bodily autonomy
