I started "Children of Blood and Bone" by Tomi Adeyemi today and... oh, this is good.

Here's my spoiler-free review of "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" by Benjamin Alire Sáenz.

It's the story of Ari and Dante, two Mexican-American teens growing up and struggling with sexual orientation, identity, and family.

5/5 the ending was cheesy as fuck but I have honestly never identified with a character as much as Ari. Overflowing with love and good writing.

@tethre No, it's okay! I've seen a lot of people spread awareness by taking as little info and context as possible.

My problems is that, more than just being drafted, she praised the 2014 assault on Gaza. She can't control being born in Israel and being drafted isn't her fault, but she can control cheering on genocide, especially when that operation was proven to be both disproportionate and under false pretenses.

@JordiGH (I've been to Guanajuato once, so that makes sense. The city views that I remember was so gorgeous, so it is definitely a great choice.)

And for immigration, the way I understood it is that visiting the world of the living can only be through legal channels. Families are separated but if you don't go the right way, they won't let you through and it isn't challenged at all...
