Hiya mastonauts! I have a scenario where I would like your opinion.

We were parking today in an area with very limited street parking. There was one area between driveways which could fit two medium sized cars.

A Smart was parked in the middle like an asshole, leaving a space in front that no car could fit and space in back that only small cars could fit.

If they had parked on the edge and showed consideration, anyone would have fit behind them.

So I wrote them a note that said,

"Hi! Can you please show consideration for other drivers on the road by leaving space behind you? You have a small car but your parking takes up more space than needed, leaving little space behind you for others who could have fit if you moved forward. This is an area with little available parking. Share the road. Thanks!"

I thought I was polite but honey did not. Thoughts?

@guerrillarain More polite than the person who wrote me a note saying, "Learn how to FUCKING park"

@guerrillarain It's kinda funny, considering I have next to no experience with on-street parking.

@ThatVeryQuinn it took me like 20 minutes to parallel park for the first time so yah street parking is hard

@KevinCarson1 @ThatVeryQuinn @guerrillarain That dude knows exactly what he's doing and would take it as a compliment.

@guerrillarain I don't get it, are they simply using the same space that a larger car would use? Are you asking them to use less space just because their car is smaller?

@JordiGH Whoops, misunderstood your questions.

So they are parked near a driveway so they do not need the additional space (not because they're a small car but because it isn't necessary since driveways cannot be blocked so they will always be able to get out).

However, because they left a weird about of space in front of them that no one can fill, also nobody can fit behind them so in a space where 2 cars can fit, only one can because they didn't think about anyone else.

@guerrillarain The Court of Public Opinion is now ready to hear the testimony. The prosecution calls to the stand Ms Pixplz.

But seriously, if it is as you describe, your note doesn't sound so bad, but in writing could be construed as passive aggressive.

@JordiGH ahhh I see. I thought I was being so nice lmaoooo

@guerrillarain I think you were a SAINT. that note is *incredibly* polite, given the situation.

@guerrillarain yeah, I think this is totally polite and generous. I had a similar situation in my neighborhood where a brand new camaro was repeatedly parking across two spaces and eventually I left a note that was like 'yo, this neighborhood isn't that bad. please park in one space' and I probably sounded like a dick but honestly it solved the problem
