Another violin/viola question:
So, I've been playing around for about an hour now. I can't tune via plucking, the notes get garbled in my tuner so my C string is starts as an E-flat and then the tuner switches to G.
However, my bow still isn't producing sound. There is no rosin powder and I've been rubbing at it for a while now (taking breaks to test). The closest I got a small scratch note before nada.
Too much rosin? Too little rosin? The rosin is still brand new and looks unused but again, I've been at it for a while so idk idk
@guerrillarain oh yeah that’s a thing. Early on you’ll need a LOT ... more than you think if it’s a new bow. And keeping rough with the rosin is key
Marked my rosin up with a quarter and the sound is back. A little bit.
