Anyone know of any good flute solos/pieces?
Every time I look for stuff, I end up with ugly scores of nonsense because it's background noise rather than at the forefront of the piece.
An example of something I like is Suite Modale for Flute & Piano by Ernest Bloch.
@shoutcacophony
I am always here for the Bolling. I'd forgotten about the flute suite, I suppose because my dad may not have owned it like he did the others. (As a kid, he only posted played flute because his mother insisted.)
@guerrillarain
@naugeleh @guerrillarain I learned about it when I was starting to actively study jazz. It's a beautiful piece
@guerrillarain Let me know if you're getting bored of my videogame music:
@guerrillarain Doesn't sound like it's your thing, but Telemann wrote a whole bunch of fantasias for solo flute. And a nifty sonata for flute and obbligato harpsichord.

@demonkind @guerrillarain When my dad bought a CD player, that was the disk that came with it. There wasn't a lot of CD music back then, so for some weeks, it was our only CD.
@guerrillarain @demonkind Um, anyway, if you like extended technique, anything by Dick should be pretty interesting http://robertdick.net/
@guerrillarain more uptempo than the Bloch, but there's the Claude Bolling suite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SA3XYKtcZdI
Fauré also comes to mind - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk7447P_8rw
