my friend taught me the phrase "Ça sent le sapin" today.
"Ça sent le sapin" literally translates to like "It smells of pine"
because pine wood was used for coffins so you're saying, "I can smell death"
to be used in scenarios of "Something doesn't feel right" or "that dude is sketchy as fuck"
