@Angle @guerrillarain @nev I hope the sequels go with the theme of destroying the old ways. They've started down that road of opening up Wakanda now can move on to the issues with having an absolute king and having them be the only Black Panther. They touched on that with this first movie but I want them to go deeper!

@fillertrack @guerrillarain @nev Eh, Wakanda's old ways seem pretty alright. I'm not super sold on the monarchy or anything, but I'm not in favor of wanton destruction either, and T'Challa Seems to be doing well enough. :/

@Angle @guerrillarain @nev but you see how sensitive they were because of the monarchy? As soon as they had a bad actor in power shit almost got fucked and it was only because TChalla still had power and loyalty that he could stop the destruction. He's good but his position could still be abused.

@Angle @nev @guerrillarain In the comics, at least, the herb only works on blood relatives. So Shuri could take it, and Erik because they're cousins, but even the Dora Milaje, who would beer less risky to super power than the general population, wouldn't benefit from it. They could have changed that for the movies, but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Even if the arc-reactor technology itself was too dangerous to reproduce on a mass scale (like, it could be stolen and made into weapons), Tony Stark has still basically solved the problem of reaching low Earth orbit, which in turn means uninterrupted solar power, etc.

@Angle @benhamill @guerrillarain @nev That side isn't a solved problem, for sure, but it's also an issue where you're not up against the rocket equation. Within the bounds of internally consistent comic-book-movie physics, it seems feasible. 😉

@Angle @nev @guerrillarain Not that that excuses the authors. That's a creative choice that still reinforces the idea of a strong individual solving or problems for us with violence, but… it's super heros and that's kind of baked in.

But it's one of the ways that Erik was right: Giving vibranium weapons to people is at least very egalitarian.
