So I've been paying my students loans for about 3 months now, and my debt and interest rates (from the government, not private party) are so high that my debt is actually INCREASING.
Also, it's partially infuriating because my mother entered into that contract on behalf of me. I was underaged when this started (I started uni at 17), so I was essentially goaded into something I really didn't even want.
My mother convinced me that we could "afford" college, but I didn't realize until I was halfway through with my degree that it was all loans and particularly loans that I could never repay unless I was a software engineer. And considering I was homeless, I had no choice but to continue taking them.
@tethre I'm already done with my degree now, and it basically was useless. Like my education was great but it is 100% unemployable, which is why all of my classmates changed fields immediately after graduating 😑 our own career center didn't even know how to help any of us.
so my backup is to just leave the country. like fuck thisssss.
@Filene I came to the decision that I'm 23 and cute so I am going to spend my money on better things like vacations and tasty things and wigs than fucking student debt so fuck the government. I didn't ask to grow up poor.
student debt Afficher plus
