For any of you who wear wigs, if it's a straight style, it's AMAZING what a difference using a straightener would make. Like all my frizz and tangles vanished.
Also I am dubbing myself the wig expert of Mastodon so if you're interested in tips, links, whatever, lemme know!
@guerrillarain could you advise a good starting tutorial for wig care? I have some that just aren't as smooth, now, and lost their sheen and style.. :x
I know, at best, how to wash my wigs. I think I brushed the curls out of one until I heard to make short strokes instead of big ones..
@Filene So I'm not sure with curly wigs (I usually do straight wigs, so I will need to research this), but with straight wigs, I get a spray bottle, fill with a little cheap conditioner and MOSTLY water and spray the wig down, squeeze lightly with a towel and let it air dry with a towel over it.
When it dries, detangle in sections and then use a straightener to reduce frizz and add shine.
@guerrillarain this is great advice, @guerrillarain O.O. Would a normal hair straightener work, or must it be for wigs?
Thank you!!
@Filene also FYI I got a cheap synthetic wig for $20 and have been using every day for 2 months and it still looks and feels like new and natural 😊 so don't let people trick you into getting the expensive stuff for simple looks.
