where's the age divide between people who know O.J. Simpson as a football player and people who have just always known him as a murder suspect
@bea @gravezwave he stopped playing in 1979, became an actor, then a murder suspect, so there are a few OJ divides
@gravezwave @bea (I remember the Many Faces of OJ)
@bea @gravezwave and I guess technically the football and acting had a serious overlap so
@djsundog @gravezwave @bea an exercise in my middle school grammar book written in the 1980's, but used in 1997, said "we all knew in the end that OJ had done well"
we had a time with that one
@djsundog right, I tend to forget that he was an actor. the crime and that whole spectacle happened shortly before I was born so I sort of forget that he's as old as he is and end up picturing it being a lot closer to his football career.
@djsundog jeez, he's 70. it's weird to remember that people I grew up hearing about are actually old.
@gravezwave well, it really was - he was doing movies throughout the 70s. towering inferno was 1974. it just lasted a while - third naked gun movie was 1994.
@sungo @gravezwave @bea and now a couple generations of people who remember him getting old people all chatty for a few minutes a couple times
@gravezwave i'm 31 and i'm the latter so there's a data point for you
