@TipsyTentacle my all time favorite is that the moon is fake (and my favorite variation of that is that it's a hologram). I'm also fond of theories about chemtrails.
alien-wise, I like the crystal skulls theories and also just the idea of reptilians in general, especially the fact that the Pope is one. alien abduction accounts are generally either really funny or really spooky to me too.
@TipsyTentacle the crystal skulls one bemuses me because it's so random. it's on the same level as "aliens built the pyramids" in that some fuck just found these skulls and was like "well past non-white people certainly couldn't have done that, guess it was aliens" and somehow it all spiraled out of control and now there's an Ancient Aliens episode on how the skulls telepathically communicate with people and are actually part of a giant cosmic computer that prophesies the return of aliens to earth. it's bonkers.
@TipsyTentacle (and ofc it's been thoroughly debunked that people several hundred years ago couldn't have created them. we can recreate how they were carved using hand tools. it just takes technical skill and any report about them that says the details are too fine to be done by human hand is wholesale lies.)
@TipsyTentacle it's a weird argument that outright ignores just how much knowledge has even been lost over the centuries and ofc it's always vaguely to overtly racist. you don't see anyone claiming that aliens built Rome (except maybe for the Ancient Aliens guy but by later episodes they were really reaching for things to put aliens into)
@gravezwave All of Europe history is fake because white people aren't that smart. It was aliens. 👌👌 (I'm really going to watch ancient aliens now, BRB)

@gravezwave
Yeah, it's hella silly that "humans years ago can't be smart" is actually used by conspiracy theorists. :/
