lol i found my old demoscene folder, most of it still compiles, c one liners you pipe through /dev/audio (except you can't now because modern life is rubbish, you have to pipe it to aplay instead)

so my meds are belladonna derived (not licensed in the US) and aside from the blisters and the tachycardia (check) one of the rarer side effects is hallucinations, but like really neg hallucinations---is it possible this is why the dysphoria has reached whole new depths of emotional turmoil? i mean i'm not exactly hallucinating---but then i feel like my whole life is a simulacrum anyway

2) remember understanding is a two way street

for folks like me with some fairly serious triggers, we can try to keep hold of the fact that the people here aren't generally trying to hurt us

if someone accidentally triggers you, try to talk to them about it, if you can find it in you—it might actually make you feel better

if you accidentally trigger someone, don't run away and hide—be kind to them

1) make it filterable

i can't possibly filter on every ableist term, but i can filter on "ableism" so as long as you CW ableist terms with that, we're good

i can't expect you to CW "pet names pollyanna finds really triggering" so i have to filter on those; i can do that, i'm good with regexen, i was a perl developer (though not everyone is—we can make this better)

i have some pretty weird triggers that i don't expect you to know about, like the pet names my abuser would coo at me when they were tired beating the shit out of me; these aren't on any lists

too much focus on lists of common triggers is only a sort of utilitarianism, the greatest happiness of the greatest number—i don't have to tell you where that leads

so here are some positive suggestions …
