The music we think of as our generation's music is typically made by the previous generation, because teenagers typically don't make records (with some wonderful exceptions). I grew up listening to Hüsker Dü and the Jesus and Mary Chain, but as I've gotten older my connection with bands my age like Placebo and the Manics has only deepened.
