@mimtschan Yep, you don't earn grade points for bending over backwards to accommodate difficult people. An experienced professor will have had students in all sorts of trying situations, it's always worth talking to them. I know some are more helpful than others, but it's literally their job to help you and most in my experience really do want you to be okay.

@mimtschan Well, it's not up to him, you don't answer to fellow students. Speaking as a recovering academic, I'd have been angry with him, not you, and depending how the class was graded he'd be looking at losing marks for poor teamwork. I don't know your professors obviously, but I'd hope they'd be more sympathetic than this idiot.

Was thinking over coffee this morning that a literally better CSS would have been JavaScript objects keyed on XPath expressions that map to blocks of property/value pairs and you just iterate over the rules in JavaScript. No cascading or specificity rules to worry about, and a Turing complete language to play with---I think I like it.

@Sylvhem In principle ... Some browsers do weird things with pixel rounding (I won't say which because I don't want to embarrass Google) so the results are unpredictable with anything but integer pixel sizes.

@Sylvhem I hadn't noticed, I think it's okay because it's an image anyway. I don't think you need a border, for print I think keep it simple.

@edensaesthetic Used to know academics who worked with it but that was years ago, psychology departments microdosing students and measuring performance; can't have been too dangerous or [nameless tech giant] would never have sponsored it.
