@Maenad You can feel sorry for someone as a person without that meaning you have to take any of their shit. I know too many people who had grad school utterly fucked up for them by a supervisor with no social skills. It's a tragedy.

@ed Meat and dairy are full of animal hormones, but many plants especially soy also have compounds similar to oestrogen, to the point that bros avoid soy to keep them "manly". Phytoestrogens promote breast growth for example. Diets based around foods like houmous are associated with increased breast growth. Meat, fish and eggs boost testosterone levels, hence aggression levels. You really are what you eat!

@ed Yep, yep. It's interesting to me that a vegan diet is full of phytoestrogens so that not eating meat actually blurs physiological gender distinctions. For me, the whole structure of societal oppression is built on maintaining false gender norms, so that just by living in it we participate in the lie. But we can participate in our own truth instead.

@ed @Scarlett @soza @Baerd Reaching out is good. The cool thing about WT is that at any given moment at least one of us is capable of head pats. Any one of us can have a bad patch, there's no need to suffer it alone. And then you can be there for someone else when they need it.
