"“It is our suffering that brings us together. It is not love. Love does not obey the mind, and turns to hate when forced. The bond that binds us is beyond choice. We are brothers. We are brothers in what we share. In pain, which each of us must suffer alone, in hunger, in poverty, in hope, we know our brotherhood. We know it, because we have had to learn it. We know that there is no help for us but from one another, that no hand will save us if we do not reach out our hand. And the hand that you reach out is empty, as mine is. You have nothing. You possess nothing. You own nothing. You are free. All you have is what you are, and what you give.”
New manager is the kind who calls "update meetings" on a problem when I'm in the middle of fixing it :-(
"I'm not always scared about the men
Just that sometimes hard to trust in them"
"Angel, why you got to be so tough"
Can we get to partially automated gay Earth socialism first please
I should also point out I always felt the edgy interpretations of Alice, in games and movies and whatever, are mostly fanfiction from their respective creators, and Alice deserves a depiction of what she was really like in the books; smartly sarcastic and as petty and flaky as any of the petty characters she met, if not worse
Being trans is not being defective because it indicates unhealthy hardware, like a keyboard with swapped keycaps/wrong layout, not broken/defective hardware. The keyboard is wrong, but you learn how to deal with it, but everyone insists on telling you it's wrong. And so you want to make it right. And that's dysphoria. And if ppl didn't, you wouldn't feel dysphoria, but you'd still know it's wrong, and getting it fixed would make you feel euphoria. Trans ppl who don't experience dysphoria are those with f1 and f2 swapped - it's minor and not very important. But fixing it still triggers euphoria. Boost to make a dysphoria-less trans person happy. #trans
"The concept of radical copyediting is based on the fact that language is not neutral. Through language we communicate values, norms, and ideals. Words matter: they can be used to harm or to heal; to perpetuate prejudice or imagine a different world; to oppress or to liberate."
Empty nitrous oxide canister on the ground by Tooting Broadway tube, in case I needed another reminder the neighbourhood is gentrifying :-/
I found my #username in a book ("Annihilation" by Jeff Vandermeer). People sometimes spot the reference and ask if I'm a fan but the book itself didn't particularly grab me. I just wanted to be something small and quiet that could flit about mostly unnoticed, in safety.
When your players text you with detail questions about the last session and you don't have the heart to tell them it was just incidental stuff you threw in for atmosphere :-/
The video for EMA's "Aryan Nation" has a distinctly Witch House look about it. https://witches.town/media/W6bnyaNw91k-bRx5qmI

I know "two things mashed up" is the lowest form of nerd humour, but I just saw someone on Twitter who goes by JudithButlerianJihad.
"[Chelsea Manning] is helped by Legs, a young woman who takes her fashion cues from the 1995 film Hackers. (Manning to Legs: “It is a terrible movie. For technical reasons we laugh at it.” Legs to Manning: “But Angelina wears white leather all the time and there’s a love story!”)"

(Half the fun of classic Traveller is fleshing out what the game's minimalist systems give you. Luckily, I enjoy improvised world building.)
