one of the things that i've noticed about the Discourse is that it's preoccupied with what people's identities are and entry level media critique more than anything else
that's not necessarily a bad thing, but so many discoursey posts on social media can be summed up with "this person's identity is/this media says this" + "and that's good/bad!"
maybe i'm just an elitist or weary at this point, but every online discourse slapfight is cyclical and feels like wading into a kiddie pool filled with poison
@kara I think it’s a thing people grow beyond, on the whole. Getting bored with the Discourse is part of a learning process - though that’s not to say the Discourse is natural, inevitable, or good.
@ghost_bird oh definitely, but that doesn't stop me from seeing discourse whenever it pops up
