I will never get why people post technical questions and then be like "Please don't give me advice"?
1) Why else are you posting about a technical issue and
2) Why wouldn't you want free advice? Free advice of this form saved by butt from making a mistake in the lab on Friday.
@Canageek Sometimes it’s just venting frustration that happens to take the form of a question.
@Canageek If it’s mainstream tech stuff you often just get a bunch of well-meaning dudes suggesting obvious things you’ve already eliminated - especially if you’re a woman. It can add to the frustration.
