one thing that happens in gender studies is you get a bunch of people reading lines like this and trying to do theory to it like "hmm… imagining queer worlds… alternate subjectivities…" but really it's just a line about trying to keep everyone alive

i don't think it's really possible to be good at gender studies or theory or politics if you don't understand that struggle and that precarity to be quite honest

in a deep way, that "how to tell…", the magnitude of it, and that need

you will feel it too

and you will be asking these same questions

how to convey that knowledge to the youth

and you will probably fuck it up a bunch and they will come to resent you for it but you will never ever stop trying to be there for them and share your knowledge and experience because they are the future and it is so so important and god if they could just live a life without knowing half the scars that you now face on a daily basis that would be enough
