Stardew Valley fans: I found the sense of time pressure in the Harvest Moon games I tried made me anxious and sucked out all the fun. Is that likely to happen with SV?

@ghost_bird the farming is definitely still seasonal and there are some quest lines that involve getting things by a specific deadline, but if you want to you can pretty much ignore all that and do stuff that isn't time-sensitive. my first game i spent a lot of time in the caves instead of farming, and if you choose the fishing map it almost encourages you to work at your home year-round as you want/need to instead of doing seasonal crops

@ghost_bird At first I felt like the time pressure in Stardew would make me too anxious to enjoy the game, but then I sat down and decided to see for myself if it was really an issue and it ended up not being that big a deal (for me)

I haven't played in a while but my save is on my 2nd year there and I usually accomplish all farm stuff by noon, then walk around fishing, chatting, buying seeds

It's a lot less pressure than I thought is what I'm saying

@ghost_bird Oh also, you can definitely miss certain things by accident through each season, but since the game is neverending you can just try again the next time that season comes around

@ravenna That sounds good. I enjoyed the daily routine and progression of the seasons in Harvest Moon, but I’d always be worrying I was going to miss a romance deadline or fail to level up my tools enough and go bankrupt or something. My own fault for reading the walkthroughs, I guess.
