My previous two boosts should be what you need to follow anywhere non-witches.town if remote follow is broken. It's basically what remote follow redirects you to after you enter your home instance address.
While I'm talking about mastodon internals, If you want to remote follow someone who's from say witches town who is on octodon for example (and your already logged on to octodon), you can manually do the follow by type https://witches.town/authorize_follow?acct=<account name> eg (geekylou@witches.town)
