@bea have you tried adding a service worker to mastadon yet? Should increase speed quite a lot on chrome for people with slow connections.
@nire me too even the one in London was closed by gentrification as Cambridge (our nearest city) has very little queer stuff (though lots of queers apparently).

@rey usually people rent with friends they made in year 1.
@rey I stayed at home when I was at uni (london was too expensive even then). The usual thing here is you get private rooms in the first year then have to rent a house privately in year 2 on wards.
@rey that sounds horrific! I found living in the same house with other people (who aren't partners) really hard.

So any US folks who are or have been to uni. Are dorm room you actually share a room with someone else really a thing? Over here students get their own personal rooms.

So job for the day done, I've ordered identified the possible bad capacitors for our bedroom TV and ordered new ones. Hopefully this will solve it's rebooting problem.
