@geekylou I started transitioning last year, and personally, I played with identifying as genderqueer and using they pronouns as a kind of crutch.
Like, I knew since middle school being a guy didn't fit, and I liked how the girls looked and acted much better. But I didn't seriously consider I could transition until I was 27, in a big male body with a deep voice, and it was hard to see a woman in the mirror and I worried asking people to call me she and see me as a woman would be an imposition.
Then I worked on my presentation and realized, fuck it. I'm a woman internally, that's why I'm doing this. But that's not universal.
