You know what fucks me up? If you talk to your average capitalist, get to know them, gain their trust, they will admit to you that they know capitalism is shit. They know the market doesn't optimize for efficiency or social good. They just see it as an inevitability, and want to be on the winning side. I'm not saying all of them are like this, but I've met too many to think it's a coincidence.

On that note, providing emergency/weekend fostering for kids is honestly one of the best things you can do to help the marginalised. You're helping out parents and families who are in a difficult situation, or giving the carers of disabled children (normally women) a short-lasting but much needed break. @fxck It's also not a valid defense against socisl backlash at all. People need to realize it's a legislative doctrine. Society needs to police itself against harmful ideologies. Finding these supposed loopholes is how fascism survives and garners sympathizers.
