You know, there's one solution that hasn't been brought up in relation to impersonation that'd work the best because we're already doing it.
Moderate servers so that people intentionally impersonating other users are not allowed, and then block other servers that actively refuse to do this.

okay so allistics often *literally don't find that stressful*. they are just perfectly content blithering along doing things wrong. i suspect they feel the same way about social interaction. so often i watch them have conversations in which both parties think communication happened, but their perceptions of the content don't match. they just go on that way and have a fight later
