the fact that many instances are now blocking pawoo.net gives me hopes that mastodon will be a safer place than twitter for marginalized people

for real though i'm not yet convinced that you can compare blocking instances with blocking people when people are free to move and subject themselves to the moderation of instances that others are happy to federate with

@oceangrunge there's no adopting standardised blocklists as of now. Awoo.space asks that instances that federate with them block a few, and nobody else does, and a majority of the instance admins *don't* block those instances, which are incidentally full of fucking nazis.
